Exploring Value based Informal Schooling : Sanchi,Lead The Change'13
“Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want
to do with your life, be passionate” -Jon Bon Jovi
Sanchi Chandna,
a girl with true determination and self belief joined us in our Lead The
Change program,13. She is currently working with Kat-Katha,an organization which
enables women working in brothels to fulfill aspirations that give them new
avenues of freedom and self reliance.
Sanchi holds a
strong belief that it is only the inner eye within us that can bring the change
together with the power of strong connections. She tends to focus working on
giving an empowering meaning to peoples’ life, taking them closer to their
inner being and togetherness in the world seeking education as her master tool.
Exploring the
field of education, she says," I am exploring the idea of value based informal
schooling, main focus being on community education cum training which is
specific to labors, class, 4 employees, women, sex workers and hijdas.”
About her
engagement with Youth Alliance, she says,"Youth Alliance(YA) strengthened my goal of working in
the social space arena, giving me clarity on various problems and there
prospective solutions and the necessary mentoring from some great leaders and
the in house YA team none the less. The intensive work that was done on me in terms of my inner being has been my
most strong take away from YA. To look for external change and service, it is
to me, after YA that the internal transformation is the real source
of energy. Also to understand, it is not about giving, it is about standing at
the same alleviation and sharing your presence and labor with others. Receiving
their presence in your life with gratitude and at the same time serving yours
with utmost love and compassion. Uniting our happiness should be the end result
we all should aim at.”
With all the
wise thoughts and the resolutions she hold in order to bring the change around,
we wish her all the best.
