Dancing on the tunes of her heart : Anaswara,Lead The Change'13
“Dance, they say, is the hidden language of the soul.”
Anaswara, a dancer by
heart joined the Youth Alliance family in 2013 for the program Lead The Change.
Always passionate about dance, Anaswara at that point was trying to understand
of the ways in which traditional Indian Dance forms could be uplifted.
Post the program, she went on to start Adhrita, an Indian Dance
Society, which is a beautiful initiative by the students of Hindu Collge,
University Of Delhi, to provide a platform for the trained or interested people
in classical and folk dance forms to enhance nurture and perform the same
at the college level.
It also works on creating awareness among the students of
DU regarding the various classical and folk forms of India and to render them
an enriching experience of Indian culture through the unique language of
traditional dances. The short term goals of the society include composing a
classical dance ballet depicting a social issue or a story from the epics. The
main aim is to communicate the message or moral of the issue or story to the
students, in such a way that it is easy for comprehension regardless of their
technical knowledge of the dance form, rekindling in them the taste, passion
and enthusiasm to enjoy and embrace the true Indian in them.
From being an extremely shy and quiet person at the time she
joined us to being the confident and proactive person she is today, Anaswara
has truly come a long way. About her experience with Lead The Change, Anaswara
says,“ Lead The Change has been a turning point of my life. What makes
Lead The Change unique is that it really works on the mindsets of the
participants rather than just imparting knowledge and experience in the social
field. It gives you the much required strength and courage to follow your
dreams and listen to your heart, whose voice is quite often ignored in this
maddening rat race of life.
It helped me in turning my wishes and dreams from
absolute to concrete reality. Also the core team sets an example itself making
you believe, nothing is impossible and not to forget the unparalleled mentoring
by them. From small gestures to big action, from brainstorming ideas to
tangible productivity, Youth Alliance is a university in itself.”
We wish Anaswara all the luck and success for her endeavors at
rejuvenating the lost glory of Indian Dance Forms.
