7-Day Kindness Experiment: Day 4

When someone does a small task beautifully, their whole environment is affected by it. -Jerry Seinfeld

The Idea: Ever sit down in at a café or lecture hall and find yourself walking past litter on the lawns, cringing at crumpled napkins or spilled water, or moving flyers over to the next chair? Today, the buck stops with you. Make the atmosphere more pleasant for those who come after you! Push in chairs at the library, pick up litter on your way to class, bus your own table at a café or recycle those the outdated flyers cluttering up the lecture hall. Step-it-up and make it an internal practice by watching your own reactions to the process of cleaning and the end result. Notice how act of keeping public spaces tidy connects you to your environment and the people around you.
