Padh-Yatra: Into the mountains.

Contributor: Rachit Sharma

The day has finally arrived when we will be dashing out of the mountains of work to get solace in the bosom of the Himalayas. The journey contains a deep meaning within it, it not just calls for surrendering to the universe but give a sense of empowerment too. It gave me jitters when I had first thought of a padh-yatra which I envisioned to be of 600 kms. One day!

For me this journey is a pilgrimage as it takes us to the sacred mountains, mighty jungles and streams which shower glitter. One cannot deny the possibility of bumping into God Yeti but that is too much to ask for.

When we were having a discussion about how during the journey, the engergies might drop as the sun goes down, I was adamant that having the master-piece manifestation of nature's art by our side who will complain of depleting engeries. But we have limitations.. And this journey is all about overcoming them without exerting too much on yourself and fellow All-walkers.

After a long discussion we came on a conclusion that Ranikhet to Kausani in one day could be too much. So, we decided to split it. We aim to begin our journey on 18th of April in the morning from Ranikhet and wish to reach a mid base-camp by the evening. As the route from Ranikhet to Kausani is very scarcely inhabited, we are comtemplating on the possible options. Paroliya comes as one of them which is 35-40kms from Ranikhet. The arrival will be followed by a lil nap before dinner and a bonfire after it.
Next morning will be special as we will be catching up the beautiful red ball emerging from the mountains. Also, this will be assi-Me-lating time , whosoever wish a little time in solitude or conversation with the nature is free to do so. We will having an early breakfast and will leave for kausani without further adieu.

We wish to reach there by early afternoon and can start hogging on lunch. There is a beautiful ashram in kausani called Anashakti Ashram where Gandhiji had spent some time and called the place 'the Switzerland of India' . There is also a tea factory which can be visited according to the time.

This might all take a topple and we might end up doing something else. But that's the fun part of it. The idea should remain affiliated to its inceptions which says Pack your bags and Move.

The other best part is our comfort zone is full of elasticity, try streching it as much. It will take you to places.
