In keeping with its commitment to improve the state of education in Delhi, the Govt. of
Delhi has initiated a number of reforms under Chunauti 2018 which includes Summer 
Camps, Mentor Teacher Program, Principal Leadership Development Program, Learning 
Enrichment Program etc. We have also mobilized the parent community through School 
Management Committees for becoming active stakeholders of the education system. 
There is a lot to do for the children of Delhi and we need your help in bringing the change in 1024 schools.

The Opportunity


The Delhi Govt. in its 3rd year would like to invite passionate young people to join the Education Revolution. This internship program shall provide an unique opportunity for you to contribute in making Chunauti 2018 successful. It will provide you a hands-on experience in designing and implementing different programs by interacting with different stakeholders from the Govt. and civil society. This internship is ideally suited for students and young professionals interested in education, public policy, public administration, social and community works, e-governance etc.

Programs

●  Mentor Teacher Program : MTP is a flagship program started by the Delhi Govt. to build academic expertise within the schools by providing on site academic support to the teachers. In the academic year 2016-17, from a pool of ~60000 teachers, 210 mentor teachers were selected. Each Mentor Teacher supports 5-6 schools in their respective areas. MTP is aimed at facilitating growth in Student Learning Outcomes.

 Intern’s role

Interns are required for providing support to the mentor teachers. Documentation of best practices will be done by the interns and this would require visits to schools with the mentor teachers.

●  Principal Leadership Development Program : School Principal is the anchor for building the school into a learning institution. Towards this endeavour, the Delhi Government started the leadership development program for the Principals in the academic year 2015-16 to build leadership capacity of the school principals.

      Intern’s role

Summer 2017 : A baseline self assessment of all 1024 participants will be done in the summer. Interns are required to support the process which will be done in batches.

OR

Academic year 2017-18: As part of the whole school development process currently underway, a number of research studies are planned through the year for studying the best practices across multiple schools on various parameters. Interns are required to support the process and will be guided and trained by a research head.

●  Summer Camps : In the month of May 2016, the Delhi Government organised Summer Camp in ~550 schools. This was the very first time that such an initiative was successfully implemented at a systemic level. This year, the summer camps are going to get bigger with ~1100 schools for Grade VI, VII, VIII.

Intern’s role

Interns will help in conducting and facilitating activities with the teachers. They would also hold discussions with students on career, life paths etc. and interact with parents to get their feedback about their impression of Summer Camps.

●  Social Media : The Delhi Government has a dedicated page, Delhi Education Revolution for sharing the best practices happening across the Delhi Government Schools on social media. This page is dedicated towards celebrating small and big successes of the Students, Teachers, Principals and the Departments (SCERT, DoE and Ministry of Education)

 Intern’s role      

The Social Media interns must have a 4G smartphone, with a minimum 720p 
phone camera. They should have good communication and writing skills with fairly strong 
grammar and command over English and/or Hindi. They should also have working knowledge of Twitter and Facebook pages.

Eligibility

● This internship is open to young people below the age of 30, who are graduate or
are pursuing graduation. Young professionals can also apply.
● The candidate must be willing to work for minimum 3 weeks for at least 6 hours in
a day in the month of May. starting from May 1st.
● The candidate should be ready to travel within Delhi.
● Preference will be given to candidates who can speak both English and Hindi.

Certificate

Towards the end of the internship program, the interns are required to present their learnings along with specific suggestions Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, certificate to the effect will be issued by the Delhi Government.
